NEW YORK, LONDON, AND HONG KONG (NOVEMBER 16, 2022)—EquiLend, the global financial technology, data and analytics company for the securities finance industry, today announces the firm has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). The pledge solidifies the firm’s commitment to engage in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the firm has launched a new ESG Hub on its website to showcase its ongoing commitment to the initiative and its principles.

Brian Lamb, CEO of EquiLend, says: “Since our firm was formed in 2001, just one year after the UNGC launched, we have embraced ESG principles. In joining the UNGC, we are demonstrating – on a global level – our commitment to implementing their core Ten Principles and encouraging corporate governance policies more broadly among our industry peers.”

The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative with nearly 21,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders over 179 countries. As part of the UNGC commitment, EquiLend employees will have the opportunity to participate in the UNGC Academy, allowing staff to engage in unlimited courses to increase their knowledge of ESG-related initiatives.

The ESG Hub links pages highlighting the company’s ongoing mission statements, established committees and partnerships and future committee events. The hub will also showcase news and insights from EquiLend staff, informing the latest on global environmental, social and governance matters. This includes:

  • The Charity Committee, established over a decade ago, embraces a generous spirit to foster positive and impactful changes within our local and global communities. As a firm, we support a range of charitable organizations particularly in our office locations across the globe.
  • The Diversity and Inclusion Committee helps grow, promote and maintain a company culture of mutual respect, appreciation of differences and fairness among employees of all backgrounds and identities. The Committee works diligently to create opportunities for meaningful engagement that brings together diverse people, perspectives and ideas that drive EquiLend’s innovation, distinguishing the firm as a leader in the securities finance industry.
  • The ESG Committee comprises colleagues in all areas across the global business and is dedicated to upholding and implementing company-wide ESG initiatives. The Committee seeks to enhance training, transparency, ownership and the international community.
