Who are the women who inspire you the most, and why?

Working mothers. There is something really empowering about saying, “I can do this! I can handle it all!” My late mother was a great example of a strong, driven woman who was an ICU nurse helping people for over 30 years. At the same time she could balance her career and family, being a great nurturer, baker and seamstress. She was able to make me a carnival costume by hand or bake cookies after the 12-hour shift at the hospital.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Never doubt your abilities. Giving up is the easiest thing to do, but to hold it together when everyone would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I really like the quote by Hilary Clinton, who said, “Take criticism seriously, but not personally. If you think there is a merit to it, try to learn from it. Otherwise let it roll right off you.”
